Captain Planet and the Planeteers

I remember growing up with Captain Planet and the Planeteers. Though I didn't have cable, I would watch it when I visited my grandmother. Though I feel old now that a childhood cartoon turned twenty after me, I love the nostalgia factor of this group. Just after reading their web page, I have the theme song stuck in my head.

Basically, the site lets you register to become a "planeteer" just like the television show. But they're taking the idea to the next level by declaring Sept. 15th to be Captain Planet Day, and setting themselves up as a volunteer resource center. Most of their meet-ups are on the East Coast, so check them out if you are in the area.
